Our client, an authorized producer of medicinal cannabis compliant with EU-GMP standards, is seeking an experienced manager for the operational direction of the cultivation area (vegetative stage room). The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the production process, ensuring compliance with current regulations and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is precise, detail-oriented, and solution-focused. They possess proven leadership skills and extensive experience in large-scale cultivation, supported by excellent references. The individual is adaptable to operational changes and collaborates effectively with the team, contributing to a structured, productive, and positive work environment for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Manage the mother room, ensuring plant health, genetic vitality, and proper propagation to ensure consistent and standardized production in the subsequent stages of the cultivation cycle.
- Oversee the vegetative phase room (indoor), coordinating a team of 5-6 collaborators.
- Implement and monitor Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and control of production processes.
- Coordinate the implementation of company policies, ensuring team adherence to internal processes and actively contributing to continuous quality improvement.
- Conduct monthly audits, analyze results, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain effective communication within the team and with other production department managers.
Essential Requirements
- Immediate availability (contract starts on May 12)
- At least 3 years of experience in leadership roles within legal cannabis cultivation facilities, with specific experience as a grower or cultivation room manager
- In-depth knowledge of GMP/EU-GMP regulations and the ability to apply them operationally
- Proven success in previous projects with excellent references
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills
- Willingness to relocate on-site and flexibility to work shifts from Monday to Saturday
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken, with the ability to write technical and operational documentation
- Previous experience with cultivation tracking systems
Preferred Requirements
- Degree in Agronomy or similar field
- Knowledge of Portuguese
- Residence in Portugal
Contract Condition
- Contract start date: 12th May
- Initial 1-year contract, with the possibility of confirmation and conversion to permanent employment.
